Add a timestamp to photos you already took

Geoplate stamps photos from your library with the date and place each one was taken, not today's date. Pick one photo or a whole batch, check the stamp and save. The app makes new stamped copies and leaves your originals untouched.

When you forgot to use a stamp camera

The photos are already in your library: a job from last week, a move-in, a trip. Now someone asks for the date on them.

Stamping them one by one in an editor means typing every date by hand. Geoplate takes the date and place that your iPhone saved with each photo.

How it works

  1. Pick photos

Tap Old photos and choose from your library. iCloud photos download first.

  2. Check each stamp

Swipe through them. Each badge says whether the date and place came from the file or you changed them. Tap a photo to edit it alone.

  3. Save all

Stamped copies go to Photos. A large batch keeps going in the background.

When a photo has no place

Some photos lose their location, for example when they came from a chat app. Geoplate tells you and lets you:

Your originals stay as they are

Geoplate never edits the photos in your library. It saves new copies with the stamp. You can also add old photos to a project without saving them to Photos.

Questions

Which date does the stamp use?

The date the photo was taken, as saved by your iPhone or camera, not the day you add the stamp. You can change it by hand if it's wrong.

Are my original photos changed?

No. Geoplate saves stamped copies to Photos. The originals stay exactly as they were.

How many photos can I stamp at once?

You can pick a whole batch. While it saves you can leave the app, and if iOS pauses the work, it picks up where it stopped.

Why does my photo have no location?

Photos shared through chat apps or picked without location often lose it. Geoplate can look for the place in your library, or you can set it on the map.
